About Chars Bonin

Growing up

Chars Bonin was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Blaine, Minnesota.  Coming from a family of entertainers, Chars fell into singing and acting early. He and his brother & sisters were annual music performers at the St. Patrick’s Day Show at Ascension Catholic Church in North Minneapolis.  He and his siblings also performed at the Minnesota State Fair talent show in 1980.

Chars has a B.A. from Minnesota State University- Moorhead in Television and Film Directing, as well as a Producer’s Diploma from The Hollywood Film Institute.

After living in Hollywood to pursue acting, Chars has settled back to Minnesota to raise his family.  He and his wife Sarah have four boys (15, 13, 9 and 7) and are working hard to help them grow into good Christian men, and productive citizens.

A national and international award winning actor, filmmmaker and screenwriter, Chars has branched from his filmmaking stories, to include songwriting, authoring a children’s book as well as working on his first novel.  An adaption of one of his award winning screenplays, “Hell’s Heaven”.  That story blends science, science fiction and theology.

Chars has always tried to keep his faith in his stories, and feels it is an important part of using his creativity to make the world a better place.
