Powerless is a feature length drama (PG-13).  It’s a period piece (1950’s) about a boys coming of age while dealing with the brutal effects of polio.

This story follows Clark Anderson through the most important year of his life.  At the young age of 9, Clark is going to have surgery to “fix” his legs.  And while his parents and the doctor’s have a different expectation of what “fixing his legs” means than Clark, all are optimistic for what this operation will accomplish for the young boy’s life.

But, after the surgery there is a fire in the hospital wing of where a number of boys are recovering, the only location that will allow for the boys to recover with the proper facilities is the lower level of an insane asylum.  Clark and the other boys do not have any indication that they could be in danger, but sometimes the dangers can come from one another.
